Policies

Green Spaces and
Climate Change

  • Increase the amount of funding allocated to NYC parks and public spaces to 1% in order to protect our most cherished natural resources.

  • Construct new and maintain public spaces with climate change mitigation as a priority by using sustainable and heat dissipating building materials.

  • Increased public access to cooling spaces.

  • Expansion of our urban tree canopy in order to combat high summer temperatures

  • Mandate “Cooling Season” in all residential buildings.

Arts Revitalization

  • Audition-Based Affordable Housing in order to foster the next generation of artists in NYC.

  • Increase the accessibility of the arts to all New Yorkers, no matter their income-bracket.

  • Build upon our $100 Billion “Arts Economy” by incentivizing productions to move to New York City, and promoting our arts.

Cost of Living

  • Cap rent for small businesses in order to provide stability to our local economies.

  • Increase corporate minimum wage to $20/hr.

  • Tax breaks for those who volunteer at NYC nonprofits

Public Education

  • Raising public school teachers’ salaries. Raise public school teacher salaries, while also incentivizing and rewarding experienced teachers that opt to teach in underserved schools.

  • Emphasis on critical thinking for students in order to best prepare our students for a changing world.

  • Opportunity for each and every student in NYC to succeed. Socio-economic status should not be a barrier to garnering an education that is top-quality.

Housing

  • Increase the number of rent-stabilized apartments.

  • Increase the rate of affordable housing construction year-by-year in order to tackle our current shortage of affordable housing units.

  • Mandate that new developments allocate 35% of new housing toward affordable housing.

Public Safety

  • Rebuild the loss in trust between the NYPD and the Public through transparency and accountability.

  • Mandate yearly mental health screenings for all NYPD officers in order to ensure the safety of officers and the public alike.

  • “Off the phones, out of the cars, and into the community.” Reforming policing standards to focus on community-policing in order to build back trust between the public and the NYPD.

  • Immediately abolish “Stop-and-Frisk.”

  • Mental Heath hotline for residents to call a trained social worker to respond to a witnessed scene of a mental health crisis.

  • More Rooms and Beds in our mental health facilities and hospitals to treat those undergoing mental health crises.

Transportation

  • Ensure that Congestion Pricing revenue is going to MTA upgrades, not to the pockets of MTA board.

  • Widen bike lanes, and prioritize enforcement of violators that put cyclists at risk.

  • Expand our “Fair Fares” program.

  • Deter Fare Evasion. Move NYPD to the front of turnstiles to deter fare evasion, rather than responding after fare evasion.
